Abstract

To foster student-focused learning, universities have introduced a number of changes in their curricula, adopted new methodologies of teaching and assessing, and developed new models of learning. To enhance learning English for Specific Purposes (ESP), project work was introduced in an undergraduate study programme of Law at Mykolas Romeris University, Vilnius (Lithuania). The present study was aimed at investigating students’ perceptions of learning Legal English through collaboration in project work with a particular focus on their reflections of such learning experience. Content analysis of the data drawn from students’ reflective project portfolios showed that the majority of students perceived it as a very positive and useful learning experience. The findings also revealed that participation in project work disclosed to the students the major challenges they encountered and lessons to be learnt for the future learning.
